Women Miners of Cooper Pedy

Opal, perhaps the world's most feminine gem stone, is one of Australia's top exports. Almost 95% of the world's opal comes from Cooper Pedy. The miners call it the Painted Lady, which is made doubly interesting when you learn that many of Cooper Pedy's Opal miners are women.
